Why You Need This: The tools you use while working on vintage motorcycles have the power to influence the progress of your rebuild for the better or worse. Using the right tools will make your work feel if not completely effortless, still much more enjoyable and less stressful, not having to deal with broken parts and stripped fasteners. Socket wrenches are a much used part of any motorcycle rebuild, and the sockets you use make a big difference in the workflow.
Here, at Common Motor we stand by the use of 6 point sockets whenever possible. As opposed to their 12-point counterpart, they have a much better grip on fasteners (they grip the sides of the fastener rather than the corner), bringing the chance of stripped bolts (and nerves) to the minimum. When looking for tools and socket sets, finding a 6-point only selection can be very difficult, and most of the times you get stuck with many sockets of sizes you will not ever get to use on your motorcycle. We looked far and wide and finally found the perfect set for a vintage motorcycle owner and enthusiast's tool box.
