Honda CB450 Rebuild: Engine Disassembly, Part 2 Project Diamond

Posted by Brenden Macaluso on 1/20/2015 to CB450 / CL450 / CB500T

The engine disassembly of Diamond, our 1973 Honda CB450 engine continues. In part two we take apart the "bottom end" of the engine, which is indeed a dirty job. This includes the removal of the charging system, electric starter, clutch, oil filter rotor and then splitting the crank case and removing the transmission parts as well as the crankshaft. At this point we have taken apart almost the entire engine, but we still have a few details to take apart in our next video. If you missed the disassembly of the "top end" of the engine you can watch the process in PART 1.
