Part:Honda CB175 K7 / CB200 / CB350 / CB360 / CB450 / CB550 / CB750 Fork Bolt & Washer
Why You Need This: During a front fork rebuild for a fork seal replacement on a Honda CB175 K7 / CB200 / CB350 / CB360 / CB450 / CB550 / CB750 there is one special Allen head bolt and sealing washer that holds each fork together. The fork bolt is located in the bottom of the fork leg just above the front axle holder in a recess. This bolt has a special shaped head that is unique to the front forks on Honda CB175 K7 / CB200 / CB350 / CB360 / CB450 / CB550 / CB750 motorcycles. Often we find that this bolt will become stuck and the head will easily strip out. If this happens then the bolt must be replaced. Fork bolt includes the proper copper sealing washer.
This front fork bolt must be removed to replace the following fork seals listed below:
- Honda CB175 K7 / CL175 K7 / CB200 / CL200 Seal #8051
- Honda CB350K / CL360 / CB360 / CB350F / CB400F Seal #8000
- Honda CB450 / CL450 / CB500T / CB500K / CB550F / CB750K / CB750F / CB750A Seal #8010
Note: CB750 K2 Models changed fork architecture mid-production. This screw was only used on forks from Frame SN 2093731 forward.
Installation Tip: Use a M6 Allen head socket (rather than just a regular "L" shaped Allen wrench) on a breaker bar to remove the original bolt. A bit of heat from a heat gun will make the removal of the old bolt much easier. Be sure to drain all the fork oil prior to removing the fork bolt. Check to see if the copper sealing washer is not stuck up in the fork body. Use a very small dab of RTV or three bond gasket sealer on the threads of the fork bolt when reinstalling.
