Why You Need This
The original clamp holds the rubber airbox boot in place. When it rusts, springs open, or strips at the screw, it stops doing that job — and the boot is only sealed as well as the clamp holding it.
Ours are stainless steel. Two details make them the right part rather than a hardware-store substitute: a raised, anti-gouging edge that keeps the band from cutting into the rubber boot, and the correct factory width so the clamp seats in the premolded grooves of the airbox.

Different part than the intake manifold clamp. This clamp secures the airbox boot on the filter side. The clamp that holds the carburetor to the rubber intake manifold on the engine side is the carburetor intake manifold clamp — a separate part with different OEM numbers.
Installation
Difficulty: Beginner
- Remove the old clamp — Back the screw off until the band opens and slides free of the boot.
- Position the new clamp — Sit it in the premolded groove on the boot, with the screw on top of the airbox boot facing outward so you can reach it later.
- Tighten — A nut driver makes this much easier than a flathead screwdriver.
Do not over-tighten. Too much clamping force risks damaging the airbox boot and stripping the fastener.

How many do I need?
They're sold individually, so count the clamps on your bike before ordering and get enough for your full setup.
Is this the same as the carburetor intake manifold clamp?
No. That clamp holds the carburetor to the rubber intake manifold on the engine side of the carb, and it uses a different OEM part number. This one is on the airbox side. If you're refreshing the whole intake, you likely need the intake manifold clamp as well.
Will this fit my CT90?
Yes, for most of the bike. The CT90 uses this clamp at three of its four air boot connections: air box to luggage rack boot, luggage rack boot to luggage rack, and carburetor boot to air box. The carburetor-boot-to-carburetor position takes a different clamp. Our CT90 / Trail 90 air filter boot clamp set covers all four positions in one order.
One note for the air box side of the carburetor boot: Honda used a pre-formed elliptical clamp there. This round clamp still works — pre-bend and shape it to fit before installing.
Why not just use a clamp from the hardware store?
A standard auto-parts clamp doesn't have the raised anti-gouging edge, so the band can cut into the rubber boot, and it isn't made to the factory width that seats in the airbox groove.
