Gauge cushion & mounting washer kit for Honda CB500 / CB550 / CB750 motorcycles
Over time, the original rubber cushions found between the gauge mount and OEM gauges of your Honda CB500T / CB500K2 / CB550 (K0-K4) / CB550F / CB750 (K3-K8) / CB750 (F0-F3) / CB750A* dry out, crack, and lose their ability to absorb vibrations. This can lead to excessive shaking that damages and eventually destroys the delicate internals of your gauges.
Our gauge cushion and mounting washer kit includes one gauge cushion and two mounting washers, which is enough to secure a single gauge on your Honda CB500T / CB550 / CB750. Each gauge (speedometer or tachometer) requires one kit. While you have the gauges removed, it’s also a great time to check and replace any burned-out instrument bulbs, since they can only be accessed with the gauges out.
*Note: CB750A models only use the speedometer gauge cushion.
The gauge cushion is notched on the bottom side, make sure to orient it correctly. When mounting the gauge to the chrome cup, tighten the nuts until they are evenly snug but not too tight as the studs that are built into the gauge can sheer off. Since the whole assembly is rubber mounted you will not ever feel the nuts get super tight, just even resistance and that is where you stop.
