Part: Honda CB350 / CB360 Exhaust Valve Guide (Sold In Pairs)
Why You Need This: The valves in your Honda CB350 / CB360 engine move up and down millions upon millions of times causing the guides to eventually wear out. Smoke, oil consumption and loss of performance could be signs that an engine overhaul is past due. Tear down the engine and take apart the cylinder head to inspect the valves and guides for excessive wear. Often we see the exhaust valve guides as the first major wear item in the Honda CB350 / CB360 cylinder head. Worn guides need replacement and our performance bronze exhaust valve guides are superior to the original iron units. Sold in pairs, two will be needed per engine.
The valve guides listed here are for the exhaust valves only and guides will have to be honed to the proper final inner diameter after installation. While you have the head apart, consider replacing the valves, intake valve guides, cam chain and use a fresh overhaul gasket kit to seal everything up to factory fresh.
CB360 / CL360 / CJ360 Owners: These valve guides have a slightly different design than the OEM guides used by Honda in the CB360, CL360 Scrambler, and CJ360 engines. They use a tapered end like the OEM guides used in the CB/CL350 engines that eliminate the need for the factory valve stem seals. Do not use any valve stem seals when using these exhaust valve guides.
Installation Tip: Since it is such a vital part, we would recommend having the exhaust valve guides professionally installed by a machine shop, but should you brave it on your own it can be done. Use a micrometer to measure the valve stem diameter and hone the guide to the proper inner diameter of the guide after installation. A proper valve guide driver must be used to install the guides to avoid damage. The guides fit in the head casting very snug so they might need to be lightly sanded on the outer diameter to achieve the proper press fit. Double check your work with a micrometer.
