Why You Need This: The way to make your Honda CL450 Scrambler / CB450 / CB500T start with one kick every time is a healthy ignition system. This means clean points that are properly timed, a good condenser and a solid connection to the spark plugs from the ignition coils. The ignition system on your Honda CL / CB450 or CB500T is very sensitive and all the parts must be in working 100%, otherwise your bike will run like crap, if it even runs at all.
We have made overhauling the critical parts of the ignition system easier this simple kit; it contains a condenser, left and right ignition points, two angled body spark plug boots (to properly fit the CL / CB450 cylinder head). These parts are all high quality and made in Japan. We also toss in our Allen head mounting screw set, which makes adjusting the points a cakewalk compared to the chewed up screws that are in there.
Installation Tip: Check your advance mechanism for proper operation. Perfect point timing is crucial to getting your bike bike running well. We find using a test light to check timing to be more effective than a strobe timing light. Use a small dab of white grease on the felt wick. With proper adjustment, lubrication, and average riding, the service life of the points is up to 6,000 miles per set before replacement.
