Parts: Honda CB450, CB550, CB500T & CL450 Scrambler Rear Brake Shoes
Why You Need This: If you have just got your Honda CB450, CB550, CB500T or CL450 Scrambler up and running then make sure your brakes are in top order. That means new rear brake shoes out back to complement the caliper rebuild you did up front for you CB owners. The good news is that the rear brake on the Honda CB450, CB550, CB500T & CL450 Scrambler is very simple to service, with these rear brake shoes being the main part to replace. While it may seem the old shoes that are in there work, they are prone to have the friction material de-laminate from the shoe body (we see it all the time). Do the job right and replace your rear brake shoes with our high quality European made shoes.
Installation Tip: Clean the brake drum and mounting plate well with brake cleaner. The shoe pivot points and the cam should have a light coat of brake caliper grease applied to them. Make sure to wipe up any excess up and keep it away from the friction surface. Clean up the inside of the drum with some 80 grit sandpaper to remove the glaze on the surface. Use new cotter pins when installing the brake shoes. Watch our rebuild video in the links by the photos
