Why You Need This: If all that engine noise does not translate to significant forward momentum on your Honda CL450 / CB450 or CB500T then the clutch disc might have given up. However, the solution is easier than you think: we have assembled a complete clutch replacement kit to get your CB450 "black bomber" or CL450 "scrambler" back on the road in no time. The clutch rebuild kit includes seven friction disc plus a set of 4 new clutch springs. Add a clutch cable and power lever to finish the rebuild right. You will also need a service gasket kit to make sure the side cover is sealed up up properly after the installation.
Installation Tip: The clutch discs must be soaked in 10w-40 motor oil for several hours prior to installation. Inspect the metal plates for excessive wear or gouging. Might as well clean out your lower crank case, oil pick up screen and oil filter while the side cover is off the engine. Make sure not to over tighten the clutch spring bolts and follow the proper clutch adjustment sequence in the factory service manual.
