Part: Electric Starter Removal Kit for Honda CB175 / CL175 / CB200 / CL200 / CB350 / CL350 / SL350 K0 / CB360 / CL360 / CB450 / CL450 / CB500T

Why You Need This Part: The electric starter on your bike is a luxury, and it is also extra weight. If your Honda CL175 / CB350,  CB360, CB450 or CB500T is properly tuned then it should easily fire up with the kick starter. The starter removal kit contains two parts: a puller for the rotor and an expansion plug that goes where the starter used to be ( you've got to keep the dirt out and the oil in somehow). The removal can be done with basic hand tools in about an hour. See our video how to on the modification process.

Installation Tip: A few more parts need to be removed besides the electric starter itself. Starter drive chain, drive gear and starter clutch must also be removed. The rotor must be pulled to remove the clutch and drive gear and yes they both need to be removed. The rotor must be torqued back into place with torque wrench, rotor can be held with an automotive oil filter wrench. The solenoid and accompanying wires can also be removed from the electrical system.

Just kick the habbit
If you have two functioning legs, there is no reason why you don't want to ditch the heavy starter. Just kick it over and seem like the coolest guy in town.

The puller worked flawlessly. Tip: Have your oil pan ready. Also, it helps to have a strap wrench to hold the rotor. The plug fit great. Definitely happy.

Ditch the starter...
So glad I came across this. My starter hasn't worked for years so I was psyched to get it out of there and save some weight. Plug fit great and pretty straight forward to install.

Mr.
This saves weight, less electrical clutter (no need for the solenoid) and makes engine removal and reinstall much easier. Kick starting a bike is much more old school. Thanks for the CB350 and other stickers that came with the package: felt like opening a box of cerials with a surprise when I was a kid back in the day.

Rotor puller/ starter plug
Have not installed the starter plug yet. Rotor puller is shorter than pictured, but worked perfectly on my 1976 CB500T. No complaints at all!
