Part: Electric Starter Clutch Rebuild Kit for Honda CB175 (K0-K7), CL175 (K3-K7) / CB200, CB200T, CL200 Scrambler Motorcycles
Why You Need This: Electric starters make life easier for many of us, however the clutch that engages the starter to the engine tends to wear out over time. If the starter is turning and making noise when the start button is pressed but the engine does not kick over, the stater clutch needs a rebuild. The clutch is located behind the alternator rotor on the left side of the engine and is driven by a chain from the electric starter. Our rebuild kit comes with all the essential parts needed to rebuild the starter clutch on your Honda CB175K0-K7, CL175K3-K7 / CB200, CB200T, CL200 Scrambler: lock rollers, springs and pressure caps. We also offer an electric starter removal kit, in case you want to ditch the starter an go kick start only.
To make the reassembly process neat and clean, we recommend getting a service gasket kit, which includes new side cover gaskets for your vintage Honda:
Installation Tip: You will need a rotor puller to properly install this starter clutch rebuild kit. Hold the rotor in place with a strap style oil filter wrench when removing or installing the mounting bolt or puller. Pay close attention to the old clutch parts when taking it apart so that you can put them back together in the proper order. Torque the rotor bolt to 19-23 ft/lbs when reinstalling.
