Part: Standard Fork Seals Honda CB175 / CL175 / SL175 / CB200 / CL200 (Sold In Pairs)
Why You Need This: In order to have a smooth ride and better shock absorption, the front fork oil in your Honda CB175 or CB200's has to be sealed in properly. If your CL175's front forks start glistening a little more than usual (and you haven't cleaned them lately) or you start to notice a mix of oil and dust accumulation near the bottom of the dust boots on your CL200 Scrambler, you might need new fork seals. The original fork seals have probably worn out over the last couple of decades and replacing the seals on your front forks keeps the fork oil in and the dust and grime out. If you are hesitant about the standard fork seal install and want to make life easy, check out our EZ Install Fork Seals for CB175 and CB200.
Note:
Installation Tip: Use fork oil to lubricate each seal during installation. Although the OEM Honda factory spec is ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid), we recommend a 10W to 15W fork oil available at most motorcycle shops. The heavier weight fork oil will firm up the front end better than the 5W ATF. Use a large socket or piece of pipe as an installation tool and tap with a mallet to push the seal into place.
Installation Guides: Honda used two different fork architectures between the CB175 / CB200 family of motorcycles. Refer to our full installation guides below for step-by-step instructions to rebuild the forks on your specific motorcycle.
