New front brake drum shoes for vintage Honda twins.
After five decades of hard use, the front brake shoes on your Honda CB175 / CL175 / CL200 Scrambler / SL350 are probably worn out. Even if the bike doesn't have a lot of miles on it, those old brake shoes may be ready to break up or crumble into dust after so many years of sitting. Since a motorcycle's front brake provides the majority of its stopping power, keeping your front brakes up to spec is important for both safety and performance. Common Motor Collective offers these new brake shoes to keep your old bike stopping like new.
NOTES:
These brake shoes DO NOT FIT SL350 K0 models. The SL350 K0 used the larger CB350 front brake drum and our SL350 K1-K2 brake shoes are too small for the K0 model.
SL175 K0 & K1 models use the same brake shoes front and rear. You can find those here.
Clean the brake drum and mounting plate well with brake cleaner and apply a light coat of brake caliper grease to the shoe pivot point and cam. Make sure to wipe up any excess and keep it away from the friction surface. Clean up the inside of the drum with a wire wheel, wire brush, or some 80 grit sandpaper to remove any rust or glaze on the surface. Use new cotter pins when installing the brake shoes.
