Part: (Early Style) Disc Brake Pads for Honda CB450K3&K4 and CB750K0-K7 Motorcycles
Why You Need This: The Honda CB450 K3&K4 were the first version of the motorcycle equipped with a front disc brake (Honda CB450 K0-K2 use a drum front brake with a brake shoe). However, this early front disc brake uses a different style caliper than the more common late style disc set up and therefore uses a different style brake pad. An early style caliper is identified by having the brake bleeder screw offset pointing to the front of the motorcycle, while late style has the bleeder screw pointing vertically. The good news is that we have the correct brake pads for the early style caliper. Brake pads are high quality EBC pads made in the UK and will keep your brakes working like they are supposed to.
If you need the late style brake pads, caliper or caliper rebuild kit, they are available.
Installation Tip: Give your front rotor a good sanding with some 100 grit sandpaper by hand or with an finishing sander; make sure to do both sides. This removes any glaze on the rotor and prepares the surface for the new pads. We recommend using some disc brake caliper grease to keep the pads from sticking and squeaking. Grease should be applied to the backside of each brake pad and to the recesses of the caliper housing. The pad should fit easily in the caliper, if not sand the inner recess of the caliper housing until the pad fits.
