Parts: Ignition Overhaul Rebuild Bundle for Honda CB450 / CL450 / CB500T.
Why You Need This: Having trouble getting your ignition timing correct on your Honda CB450 / CL450 Scrambler / CB500T? Spark weak or battery not charging? Time to dig in and rebuild the whole ignition system on your Honda CB450 / CL450 / CB500T. Electrical parts like coils, condensers and voltage regulators decay over time and become intermittent with use. The ignition overhaul kit contains: left and right contact points,
condensers, spark plug boots, shim washers and a round file. To make
things even easier our Allen head mounting screw set is included;
converting to Allen head bolts makes setting the points much easier
versus the destroyed screws that are in there.

- Contact Points: Left & Right (NOS Made in Japan!)

Installation Tip: Inspect the advance mechanism under the point plate to see that it is
working smoothly. We recommend to cleaning and lubricating all the
moving pieces of it, pay attention to the direction the orientation of
the points cam as it can be installed backwards. Exact point ignition
timing is essential to a smooth running engine, the gap of the points is
subjective. We set the points with a test light not to be confused with
an automotive strobe style timing light. A small smear of white lithium
grease on the points cam will extend the life of the rubbing blocks.
Ignition timing should be adjusted every 1,500 miles, expect to get
about 4,500 to 6,000 miles out of a set of points before they need to be
replaced. Be sure to watch our video on how to set ignition timing on the Honda CB450 / CL450 / CB500T.
