Part: Honda CL450 Scrambler / CB450 Forged Piston Kit Oversize
Why You Need This Part: After many years and miles of long service it is time for a rebuild on your Honda CL450 / CB450. If your cylinders measure outside of the factory service limits, your engine will need its cylinders bored oversize. This will require an oversize set of pistons, rings, along with a new wrist pin and retaining clips finish your rebuild correctly. Original Honda oversize pistons and their matching rings are obsolete for the Honda CL450 / CB450 family of bikes.
The good news is that your Honda CL450 Scrambler / CB450 engine can be rebuilt with parts better than the originals! Our American made high performance forged piston kits are a piece of machine "art" work. Stronger than the original stock cast pistons these forged piston come as a kit containing one oversize piston (.5mm or 1.00mm oversize), matching piston ring set, wrist pin and wrist pin retaining clips.
Each piston kit is sold individually, two kits will be required per engine. The additional piston will bump up the engine a few more CC's as well, at 451cc (.5mm over) and 458cc (1.0mm over). Get the rebuild done right with our gasket kit, cam chain, clutch rebuild kit and some three bond gasket sealer
Installation Tip: Cylinders must be bored to the correct size by an engine machine shop. Pistons and cylinders should be dropped off together to the machine shop so that they can be matched when boring. Newly machined cylinders should be washed with hot water and dish detergent. Wipe cylinders clean with a white cloth, when the cloth shows no residue then cylinders are clean. Install pistons with arrow facing toward the front of the engine. Make sure to lubricate up the pistons and cylinders with engine oil before installation and orient the ring end gaps properly.
