Late-Style Right Side Handlebar Switch Box with Harness Connector for always-on headlight circuit motorcycles. Compatible with Honda CB550K3 & K4 / CB750F, CB750K 1977 - 1978
The right-side handlebar switch box on the Honda CB550K3 / K4 / CB750K or CB750F is a difficult piece to try to do without. Since it contains the kill switch, throttle assembly, starter button, and the headlight disconnect circuit (which activates when the starter is engaged), this component plays a vital role in the operation of your vintage Honda. This era of switch box has a few variations; wire length, throttle style, and harness connector to name a few. Since most OEM Honda switches are unavailable, this new reproduction does a great job as a replacement.
Older switch boxes routed the wires inside the handlebars. While that’s still possible, this updated switch box features a notch on the lower half of the casting, allowing you to run the wires externally on non-drilled handlebars (like our superbike bars). Note that this switch box isn’t drilled for a locating pin, but it clamps securely to the handlebars, making the pin unnecessary. Refresh your right-side controls by pairing it with a new nylon throttle sleeve and a set of throttle cables for a complete upgrade.
#2202 Wiring Breakdown: Harness wire color...to...Switch wire color
This switch is setup with the square plastic harness connector just as the factory switch was. Always check the placement of your wires in the harness connector before plugging in a new switch. Colors should match across the connector. If you are running the wires through the handlebars, use a small flat head screw driver to depress the brass terminal stops inside the connector, then pull them out of the white harness connector. Once the wires have been ran through the handlebars, push the brass terminals back into place to reseat them. Be sure that you reinstall them back into the correct location in the harness connector so that they match the wiring harness.
