The brake set up on the Honda 350cc family of motorcycles are cable activated drums, with the exception of the late CB350G. While simple in nature, the brakes do a lot of work and should be working their best. A proper brake overhaul for the CL350 Scrambler / SL350 / CB350 involves clean drums, fresh shoes, new cable and lubricated linkages, anything less is a compromise of your bike's stopping ability.
