The Honda CT90 / Trail 90 fuel system utilizes a single Keihin carburetor, fed through a petcock located on the carburetor from the fuel tank. The carburetor is controlled by a single throttle cable and features a manually operated choke for cold starts. The carburetor features a manually operated altitude knob to pull when over 6,000 feet to add additional air to the fuel / air mixture. Over time, carburetor components, such as gaskets and jets, can become clogged or deteriorate, leading to performance issues. Regular cleaning and a standard carburetor rebuild are recommended.
