"Big" Cam Chain Roller for Honda CT90 K0-K8; CT90 '78-'79 motorcycles
Restore the smooth and reliable performance of your vintage Honda Trail 90's engine with our high-quality replacement cam chain roller. This "big" cam chain roller sits midway along the cam chain path inside the cylinder casting. Over decades of milage and subject to high heat this rubber piece becomes brittle, cracked or completely deteriorated. A damaged or missing roller can cause excessive chain noise, poor timing stability, and premature wear to your cam chain and guides.
If you are rebuilding your CT90's engine, don't forget this little guy. Built to match OEM specifications this roller is a must-have for any CT90 engine rebuild or restoration.
While replacing your cam chain roller, it is also a good time to inspect and replace your cam chain, cam chain tensioner, oil pump drive shaft sprocket and engine oil seals.
To remove and replace the cam chain "big" guide roller, you will need to remove the cylinder head from your engine. The roller sits in the cam chain opening on the left side of the engine. The big guide roller mounts on a special threaded pin. Torque this pin to 6.5–10.1 ft-lbs during reassembly. Like most rubber components in the CT90 cam chain system, if this roller needs replacement, the others are likely due as well - always inspect all cam chain components during engine service.
