Model-Specific Notes
- CB350 K0 - K1, CL350 K0 - K1, SL350 K0: These early models were shipped with a front drum brake switch integrated into the front drum brake cable. Because of this, original handlebar perches do not have the provision for a brake light switch. Since the original Honda style front drum brake cable with integrated brake light switch is considered obsolete, this later style brake light switch can be added to these models by replacing the original right handlebar switch with a separated right handlebar switch and front drum brake perch.
Installation
Difficulty: Beginner
Tools needed: A sharp knife or box cutter
- This brake light switch requires a minor modification before installation and may not fit some front drum brake light switch perches right out of the package. After removing the switch from its packaging, find the small locating notch at the end of the brake switch housing.
- Using a sharp knife, carefully trim away the thin raised edge on both sides of the brake light switch housing. You do not need to cut the front section with the locating notch or the rear of the switch. For a closer look at the process, watch our short installation video. Once trimmed, the switch is modified and ready to install.
- Remove the drum brake lever, then route the brake light switch wires through the drum brake perch, starting from the inside of the perch and feeding them outward.
- The brake light switch should fit into the perch housing with the small locating notch aligned in the matching notch on the perch. Press the switch firmly into place until it is fully seated and sits flush with the perch housing, not raised above it.
Avoid pulling the brake light switch through the perch by the wires, as this can damage the switch or pull the wires out of the switch body. Instead, gently feed the wires through by pushing them into the perch housing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit in my original handlebar perch?
Yes, but there are two important details to keep in mind. First, this brake light switch may require a small modification to fit certain front drum brake perches. Please refer to our installation instructions for more information.
Second, the CB350 K0–K1, CL350 K0–K1, and SL350 K0 models were not originally equipped with a separated front drum brake light switch provision. Check the product description for the additional parts needed to install this switch on those models.
Will this brake light switch fix my brake light?
It might. On these Honda motorcycles, the brake light circuit includes both a front and rear brake light switch and also routes through the keyswitch. Before ordering replacement parts, we recommend testing the full brake light circuit to confirm which component has failed and avoid buying parts you do not need.
