12V Turn Signal and Tail Light Bulbs | Honda CB175 / CB350 / CB360 / CB450 / CB500K / CB550 / CB750
Burnt-out turn signals and dim tail lights are a safety hazard and an inspection failure waiting to happen. These 12V incandescent replacement bulbs are direct plug-and-play replacements for your original Honda bayonet-style sockets — no rewiring, no modifications. Available in single filament (SAE 1156, SKU #3034) and dual filament (SAE 1157, SKU #3107) styles to cover every turn signal and tail light position across the Honda twin and inline four families.
Why You Need This
Turn signals are required in most states to pass road inspection. Corroded sockets and aged filaments cause dim, flickering, or completely dead signals — and "I'll use arm signals" doesn't fly at the inspection station. Fresh incandescent bulbs restore full brightness and proper flash rate with your stock flasher relay.
The dual filament bulbs do double duty — on later models (CB360, CB500K, CB500T, CB550, CB750) the front turn signals also function as running lights. The dimmer filament stays on as a parking light while the brighter filament flashes for turns. All bikes use the dual filament bulb in the taillight, where the dim filament is the running light and the bright filament is the brake light.

Which Bulb Goes Where
- #3034 Single Filament (SAE 1156): CB175, CB200, CB350, CL350, CB450, CL450 — front and rear turn signals. Also fits CB360, CB400F, CB500K, CB500T, CB550, CB750 rear turn signals only.
- #3107 Dual Filament (SAE 1157): CB360, CB400F, CB500K, CB500T, CB550, CB750 — front turn signals only (these double as running lights). Also fits all taillight assemblies across every model listed above.
Installation
Difficulty: Beginner
- Remove the turn signal lens (one or two Phillips screws depending on the housing style).
- Push the old bulb in slightly and twist counterclockwise to release it from the bayonet socket.
- Apply a dab of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to the metal base and sides of the new bulb — this prevents corrosion and keeps the bulb from rusting into the socket over time.
- Press the new bulb gently into the socket and twist clockwise to lock the bayonet base in place.
- Test the turn signals and tail light before reassembling the lens.
Corrosion tip: If the old bulb is stuck, spray a small amount of penetrating oil into the socket and let it sit for a few minutes before twisting. Clean the socket contacts with fine sandpaper or a wire brush before installing the new bulb.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the single filament and dual filament bulbs?
The single filament (#3034 / SAE 1156) has one element and serves as a turn signal only. The dual filament (#3107 / SAE 1157) has two elements — a dim filament for the running or parking light and a bright filament for the turn signal or brake light. Later models (CB360, CB500K, CB500T, CB550, CB750) use the dual filament in the front because those front turn signals double as running lights.
Can I use these with an LED flasher relay?
Yes. These standard incandescent bulbs work with both the OEM thermal flasher relay and aftermarket electronic flasher relays. If you're mixing LED and incandescent bulbs on the same bike, an electronic flasher relay is recommended to maintain a consistent flash rate.
My turn signals flash too fast or too slow — is it the bulbs?
Usually, yes. A fast flash (hyperflash) typically means one or more bulbs are burnt out — the flasher relay senses lower current draw and speeds up. Replace all burnt-out bulbs first. If the flash rate is still wrong, the flasher relay itself may need replacement. A slow or erratic flash often points to a corroded ground connection or dirty socket contacts.
How many bulbs do I need to order?
Bulbs are sold individually. For a full set of turn signal bulbs you need 4 (one per corner). Add 1 more dual filament bulb for the taillight if needed — that's 5 bulbs total. Check the "Which Bulb Goes Where" section above to determine whether you need single filament, dual filament, or a mix.
