Mitas Modern Street Motorcycle Tire | Honda CB175 / CL175 / CB200 / CL200 / CB350 / CL350 / CB360 / CL360 / CJ360
Why You Need This
If you want maximum handling performance from your CB175, CB200, CB350 & CB360 the Modern Street is the tire to run. Where the Vintage Street and Vintage Scrambler prioritize period-correct looks, the Modern Street prioritizes grip and road feel. The wider tread contact patch and contoured profile and keep the bike planted through corners and will eat up highway miles.
Mitas has been making tires globally for the European market for decades, with a sub-specialization in motorcycle tires. The Mitas Modern Street Tire is made in Slovenia, and available with the older sizing standards to fit vintage Honda frames — so you get a modern tire that bolts right on without fender or clearance modifications.
These tires are tubeless by construction, meaning they'll fit modern one-piece rims. Since most vintage Hondas use spoke wheels, you'll need to run tubes and rim strips inside them — which is perfectly fine. Running a tube inside a tubeless tire is standard practice on spoke rims. These are tubeless tires, “P” speed rated to 93 mph (150 km/h). We suggest using these on the smaller to mid sized Honda twin cylinder bikes; we do not recommend these tires to be used on the larger displacement twin or 4 cylinder bikes.

Installation
Difficulty: Intermediate
- Remove the wheel from the motorcycle. For the rear, remove the chain guard, cotter pin, and axle nut.
- Break the bead on the old tire using a bead breaker tool, then lever the tire off the rim with tire irons. Start prying 180 degrees from the valve stem — that's the hardest area.
- Install a new rim strip before mounting the new tire. Replace the rim strip with every tire change.
- Mount the new tire with the balance dots (if present) aligned with the tube's valve stem. Pay attention to the rotational direction arrow on the sidewall.
- Inflate the inner tube slightly before inserting it into the tire to give it shape and prevent pinching.
- Use baby powder inside the tire and on the tube to ease installation. Glass cleaner (like Windex) works as a lubricant between the tire and rim bead.
- Inflate the tire to approximately 25 psi before mounting the wheel on the bike — this lets you check for pinched tubes before everything is buttoned up.
- Reinstall the wheel and torque the axle nut to spec.
Remember: these are tubeless tires, but you MUST run tubes and rim strips on spoke wheels. It's perfectly fine — standard practice on vintage Hondas.
Our tire change walk through covers the full process of mounting tires on vintage Honda spoke wheels — including tube installation, rim strips, bead work, and balance dots.
Mitas Modern Street tires do not feature balance dots, tires should be balanced after installation. Tires must be mounted with the proper rotation direction, however tires can be mounted either in front or rear positions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the price for one tire or a pair?
One tire. Tires are sold individually — select your size above. Most customers order a front and rear tire together.
What size Modern Street tire fits my CB175 / CB200 / CB350 / CB360?
For the CB350 and CB360: 18" x 3.00" for the front, and 18" x 3.50" for the rear. The CB175 / CB200 use a 18" x 2.75" in front and 18" x 3.00" in the rear. Check the fitment chart for confirmed front/rear positions by model.
Do I need inner tubes with these tires?
Yes — if your bike has spoke wheels (most vintage Hondas do). These are tubeless tires by construction, but spoke wheels aren't airtight. You'll need inner tubes and fresh rim strips. It's perfectly fine and standard practice to run tubes inside tubeless tires.
What's the difference between Modern Street and Vintage Street?
Performance vs looks. The Modern Street has a contemporary tread pattern with a wider contact patch — it's the better tire for grip and handling. The Vintage Street has a period-correct block or ribbed tread that looks like what came on the bike from the factory.
