Why You Need This

Sprockets play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and safe ride on your vintage Trail 90 motorcycle. Over time, they endure significant wear, especially so with high mileage an improper chain adjustment and lubrication. A worn sprocket is easy to spot: the teeth become sharp, pointed and may show uneven wear. This 45-tooth rear drive sprocket is a direct replacement for the one originally found on the CT90 K0-K8 & 1978 - 1979 models. Made from high-quality steel, this rear sprocket fits the factory 428 pitch drive chain.

*Note: Early CT90K0 models used unique overlay sprockets instead of the dual range transmission used on the later K0 models. This sprocket will fit Trail 90 K0 models starting from Frame SN 138201 and up.

Installation Tip

Torque the sprocket holding nuts to the proper torque value of 13-18 ft lb and add a drop of blue Loctite. Be sure to fold back up the special locking washers so the sprocket bolts will not back out over time.

When replacing your rear sprocket you should always use a new chain and apply chain lube on your new parts. The new chain will ensure your motorcycle feels tighter on the road and gives smooth throttle response to the rear wheel.
