Part: Honda CB350 / CB360 Electric Starter Clutch Rebuild Kit

Why You Need This: While die hard riders will always use the kick starter, the electric starter makes life easier for many of us. The electric starter on the CL / CB350 and CL / CB360 is pretty dependable, however the clutch that engages the starter to the engine tends to wear out over time. If the starter is turning and making noise when the start button is pressed but the engine does not kick over, the stater clutch needs a rebuild. The clutch is behind the alternator rotor on the left side of the engine and is driven by a chain from the electric starter. This rebuild kit comes with all the pieces needed to rebuild the electric starter clutch: lock rollers, springs and pressure caps. If you would like to rebuild the starter motor or remove the electric starter we have kits for those too.

Installation Tip: You will need a rotor puller to properly install this starter clutch rebuild kit. Use a strap style oil filter wrench to hold the rotor in place when removing or installing the mounting bolt or puller. Pay close attention when taking apart the old clutch parts so that you can put them back together in the proper order.

A service gasket kit will have new side cover gaskets making reassembly neat and clean:

Torque the rotor bolt to 24 ft/lbs when reinstalling.

Just what was needed
Shot starter clutch? This will probably fix it. These wear out, and while small, are necessary.
