Part: Honda CB450 / CL450 Scrambler / CB500T Rear Rubber Tank Mount

Why You Need This: Since its common to remove the gas tank on your Honda CL450 / CB450 Scrambler or CB500T its normal to find your little stretchy tear tank mount cracked, dry rotted out, or even missing. Well we've got new ones to hold your tank in place like it came from the factory. Made in Japan from high quality rubber, our rear tank mount is almost* exactly like the original found on your Honda CL450 Scrambler / CB450 or CB500T. Replacements are available for the front tank mounts if they are missing as well.

* The CB450 / CB500T rear tank mounts have two small cutouts on the bottom to so that they clear some bolts mounted to the frame. The cutouts on these replacement rubbers are slightly smaller than those on the factory mounts. To make them fit just right, remove some rubber on the inside of each cutout with an x-acto or pocket knife. See pictures. It takes a few seconds; just don't cut yourself.

Installation Tip: The point of the rubber mount faces towards the front of the motorcycle. The front mounts must be in place to make sure everything fits just right otherwise the gas tank will be not be secure on the frame.

Combined with the two front mounts you will see a noticeable improvement on tank stability. I did have to trim a bit of the underside to slide the mount over my frame bolts (stock CB450), easy to do with a fresh utility blade. Save yourself some $ on shipping and just get one now. You know you're going to get it later anyway!
